What is Tofu?
Tofu is a plant-based food made from soybean milk, and hence, is at times, referred to as soybean curd. There are different kinds of tofu available such as soft tofu, silken tofu, firm tofu and fermented tofu.
What is Paneer?
Paneer is a vegetarian cheese that is made mostly from cow, or buffalo milk, and uses lemon juice to start the curdling process. It is sold fresh and in particular, doesn’t have a lot of varieties.
While paneer is dairy, tofu is plant-based. In terms of nutrition, tofu has fewer calories than paneer, though on the other hand, paneer has higher calcium and protein content. Even when it comes to taste, both, though can be replaced with one another, are quite different.
